Day after dumper kills biker on JVLR flyover, driver held

MUMBAI: A day after a fatal mishap of a biker, that had led to a traffic jam on the Western Express Highway, the Vanrai police arrested a dumper driver for rash driving and negligence.

The accident took place on JVLR flyover around 10:30pm.

Vishwas Mdhyalker (28) was riding on the north-bound arm of the flyover when a dumper hit him. The impact caused Madhyalker to fall on the ground, cracking his skull. Police vehicles arrived soon after, but it took them a long time to clear the stretch, causing a backlog up to Andheri. The dumper driver was hauled to the vanrai police station.

Madhyalker was a resident of Charkop. Based on his wife’s statement, the police arrested the dumper driver.
