According to reports, Bowling Green Police responded to the clubhouse for the local Sin City Disciples Motorcycles Club on East 16th Avenue around 12:38 a.m. in response to an assault shooting call.

Officers found a woman, later identified as Tashina Rippy, 41, of Alvaton, on the floor.

Witnesses told police that an unknown person fired multiple rounds into the building, and that at least five people were inside when the bullets went through the glass and door of the building.

At this time, police say they do not believe the shooting was a “random act”, or that this poses a threat to the public.

“We don’t really have any reason to believe that this goes outside of that, of that clubs specifically,” said Bowling Green Police Public Information Officer Ronnie Ward. “I don’t think that there’s any reason to believe that anyone in the neighborhood there will be in any danger.”

Rippy was transported to Skyline Hospital in Nashville where she is listed in critical condition as of 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to police.

Detectives are currently trying to locate additional witnesses and surveillance video, though they say they will not be releasing information in relation to a suspect or suspected vehicle.

“Right now our detectives are scouring the area in an attempt to locate any video surveillance that may have captured the event,” Ward said. “Also, they’re speaking to all of the neighbors as part of a neighborhood canvass to attempt to locate anyone who may have information about the about the shooting.”

Those with information pertaining to the case are asked to the contact the police department at 270-393-4000.

The investigation is ongoing, though Ward assures the community they have nothing to be concerned about.

“Bowling Green is a safe city. We do have instances of violence, sporadic instances of violence,” Ward said. “I think you can always just keep your eyes open and make sure that you’re in a safe space, safe place at all times.”
