A Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang member, who fired shots in a brawl at a New Smyrna Beach gas station during Bike Week in March, will spend the next five years in prison, according to prosecutors.

In a news release issued by the Seventh Circuit State Attorney’s Office on Wednesday, Dec. 10, prosecutors said Clinton N. Walker was sentenced to five years and two months in prison to be followed by five years’ probation.

Court records show Walker pled no contest in open court on Wednesday, Dec. 10, to aggravated rioting and conspiracy to commit aggravated rioting.

Bike Week brawl and shooting at gas station

According to New Smyrna Beach police, Walker was part of a large group of Mongols who confronted a group of Warlocks who were already gathered at the RaceTrac gas station at 3000 State Road 44 during Bike Week on Saturday, March 8, at 11:45 a.m.

A brawl started between the rival motorcycle gangs and shots were fired. New Smyrna Beach police identified Walker as one of the shooters after analyzing video footage of the scene, according to an arrest affadavit.

Walker left the scene of the fight but was stopped at 726 U.S. 1 in Oak Hill. He was driving a Chevy Silverado. He was arrested, and his vehicle was towed, according to police.

Warlocks motorcycle gang members injured

Those injured in the fracas included Warlock gang member, Marvin Granick, 55, of Deltona, who was found with a bullet graze to the side of the head; and another Warlock member, Thomas McDaniel, 64, of Louisa, Virginia, who was struck in the back of the head with nunchucks, police said.

McDaniel told police that when he arrived at the gas station, a few Mongols were at the pump, and they acknowledged each other. Fifteen minutes later, as McDaniel exited the convenience store, he saw a large number of Mongols arriving at the gas station, and “they came quickly and with purpose.” The Mongols rushed toward the Warlocks, and shouting was heard, McDaniel said to police, according to the report.

After the incident, Anthony Trimboli, of the Mongols gang, arrived at Halifax Health Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the stomach. Trimboli, 35, of Naples, would only tell police that he was somewhere in Edgewater alone, practicing cross-drawing when the gun discharged, hitting him in the abdomen, according to an arrest report.

In the melee, a vehicle belonging to James Reynolds, 62, of New Smyrna Beach, was hit by bullets. He declined to press charges, police said.

New Smyrna Beach police were assisted by Daytona Beach, Edgewater, and Port Orange police as well as the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office in handling the incident.

Following the brawl and shootout in New Smyrna Beach, in a multi-agency statewide raid that included the FBI, dubbed Operation Mongolian Beef, Walker and dozens of members of the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang were arrested on July 2.

After-prison probation conditions for Mongols gangster

The judge who sentenced Walker on Wednesday, Dec. 10, ordered him to follow the conditions of his probation after he finishes serving his prison sentence.

These include having no contact with any members of the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang or any other outlaw motorcycle gangs, surrender all his gang paraphernalia, including his vest, badges, stickers, and signs which designate membership, rank, status, or any affiliation to motorcycle gangs, and not possessing firearms, weapons, or ammunition.
