Man arrested with drugs, gun tied to ‘one per cent’ bikers, say Windsor police

Investigators believe a suspect who was arrested with crystal meth and a loaded handgun in Windsor last month belongs to an outlaw motorcycle club.

The group has been identified as a “one per cent” motorcycle club, which refers to bikers associated with criminal activity.

Members of the One Order Motorcycle Club have been observed associating with the Hells Angels, who law enforcement organizations in the U.S. and Canada consider a long-standing organized crime syndicate.

According to police, the One Order Motorcycle Club has chapters in London, Toronto, and Halifax.

Police believe the group began also operating in Windsor six to eight months ago, and have been based at a location in the 1100 block of Crawford Avenue.

On June 27, members of the DIGS unit stopped a vehicle occupied by Bingham and another individual. A search of the vehicle revealed quantities of illicit drugs and a loaded Smith & Wesson revolver.

The following day, on June 28, search warrants were executed at three Windsor residences and a business location.

As a result of the raids, Windsor police found and seized a total of 1.13 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 918 grams of fentanyl, and 449 grams of cocaine.

A third individual was arrested during the raids.

Police also seized more than $11,000 in cash and four digital scales.

A six-shot long-barrelled revolver was found in the vehicle, along with 43 rounds of ammunition.

As well, police found a weapon described as a “spring-assisted knife.”

The charges against Bingham include six counts of possessing controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking; possessing a restricted firearm without a licence and registration; unsafe storage of a firearm;  occupying a vehicle with a firearm; carrying a concealed weapon; and six counts of failing to comply with court-ordered firearm prohibitions.
