Biker dies in horror late-night crash as Scots road closed for hours

A BIKER has tragically died after a horror crash on a Scots road yesterday evening.

Emergency services raced to the scene in Addiewell, West Lothian, at around 9.25pm last night.

Officers were called to the B792 Blackburn Road after receiving reports of the smash which involved a blue Suzuki GSXR motorbike.

The 43-year-old male rider was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have confirmed that no other vehicle was involved in the crash.

The road was closed for around four hours while a full crash investigation was carried out.

It was re-opened around 1.35 am this morning.

Cops have confirmed that enquiries into the incident are ongoing and they are appealing for anyone with information about the crash to come forward.

They are urging anyone who may have seen something, or anyone who may know something, to speak with officers.

They are particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area from the time of the crash.

Sergeant Barry Sommerville, Roads Policing Unit, Livingston, said: “We are keen to hear from any motorists, especially any with dash-cam footage, who were driving on the B792 between 9.10pm and 9.25pm.

“If you were in the area and have not yet spoken to police and have information you feel may assist our investigation, then please call officers on 101 quoting incident number 4192 of Monday, 14 August 2023.”
