Shooting inside motorcycle club kills Rocky Mount man

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WITN) – No arrests have been announced after a shooting Sunday night inside a motorcycle club.

A man was fatally shot Sunday night at a motorcycle club just southeast of downtown, and police are asking for the public’s help solving the case.

Donald Joseph, 55, died after he was struck by a suspect that police say he knew after an altercation occurred inside All Roun Huzlaz in the 300 block of Tarboro Street, police said in a news release.

Officers responded at 9:35 p.m. about a call regarding the shooting, the news release said. Emergency medical services personnel and first responders attempted lifesaving measures, but Joseph of Rocky Mount died at the scene from his injuries, the news release said.

Police said that what happened in connection with the shooting indicates it was not a random event and that the people involved all appeared to be known to each other, the news release said.

The motorcycle club is in proximity to the intersection of Tarboro and Atlantic Avenue and Arlington Street and in proximity to Edgecombe Community College’s Rocky Mount campus.
