The United Eagles Motorcycle Club recently earmarked a month of giving. It is the club’s aim to give back to the communities that its members are involved in.

The United Eagles Motorcycle Club started up about a decade ago as a Christian biker group that rides “to be a blessing to the Lord,” said member Mitch Smith.

One of the group’s main goals, he said, is to give support to families in the Middlesex, Gloucester and Mathews area who are dealing with illness, sudden hardship, house fire victims or who are just in need. The group also tries to sponsor a family every Christmas.

On Oct. 26, members presented the residents of the Saluda Rehabilitation Center with beautiful gifts for their personal use and also for their rooms.

On Nov. 1, members presented the Gloucester Homeless Shelter with a check in the amount of $200 to assist with feeding the homeless.

On Nov. 7, members presented the American Cancer Society with a check in the amount of $1,000 to assist in any way needed.
